South Cheshire clothing store announces date to close for 'the final time'
A South Cheshire clothing store has announced the date of its permanent closure - after going into administration last December.
M&Co, High Street, Nantwich, just five miles from Crewe - will close its doors for the final time on Tuesday 11 April.
The privately-owned UK chain has blamed increasing costs and decreasing customer confidence for its downfall.
M&Co will be permanently closing all of its 170 stores around Easter - including ones in nearby Sandbach and Congleton.
An estimated 2,000 jobs will be lost from these closures.
On Tuesday 4 April, M&Co Nantwich released a statement on social media - announcing its imminent closure.
The statement read: "M&Co Nantwich will close its doors for the final time on 11 April.
"We have just over a week left to trade to you all so please pop in and grab yourself one last bargain.
"We would like to thank you for your continued support during this period of uncertainty since December 9.
"Thank you to those who have wished us well and shown us genuine concern."
M&Co failed to find a buyer for all of its physical stores - with the brand now owned by AK Retailer Holdings at auction.
