CREWE cafes and restaurants have signed up with a government scheme to boost their trade as lockdown eases.
From next Monday (August 3) a number of local venues have joined Chancellor Rishi Sunak's 'Eat Out to Help Out' initiative.
By offering 50 per cent discounts of food and non-alcoholic drinks it is hoped it will provide a boost to the struggling hospitality industry. The venue deducts the money off diners' bills and then claims it back from the government.
Here is a list of Crewe venues participating:
Park Life Café, Queens Park.
The Pantree Coffee and Tea Lounge, Readesdale Avenue.
KFC, Dunwoody Way.
McDonald's, Dunwoody Way.
McDonald's, Macon Way.
Spedalis Coffee Shop and Eatery, Nantwich Road.
Vernon's Fish Bar, Victoria Street.
The Lamb, Wistaston Road, Willaston.
Rhode Island Coffee, Victoria Street.
CW2 Burger, Nantwich Road.
Costa Coffee, Market Street.
Starbucks, Market Street.
Bru Cafe and Coffee, Heath Street.
KFC, Grand Junction Retail Park.
The Nags Head, Market Street.
Giovannis, Nantwich Road.
Crewe Arms Hotel, Nantwich Road.
Ibis Styles, Emperor Way, Crewe Business Park.
Hunters Lodge Hotel, Sydney Road.
Subway Crewe Gateway, Beswick Drive.
Hickory's Smokehouse, Crewe Road, Shavington.
Ego at the Fox Inn, Crewe Road, Haslington.
The Bakery Cafe, Crewe Road, Haslington.
The Vine Inn, Rope Lane.
Playworld, Newcastle Road.
The White Lion, 31 Main Road, Weston.
The discount is only available on food and drink that is consumed on the premises, and can be used as many times as you like. Participating venues will offer the full 50 per cent discount all day Monday to Wednesday and across the whole food and soft drink menu. There is no limit on how many people can use the discount in one party, and it includes children. There is no minimum spend, but the maximum discount available is £10 per person. Customers don't have to order food to be eligible, so for example a £3 coffee would cost £1.50 under the scheme. The offer does not require a voucher and runs all day Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from August 3 to 31. Establishments can choose whether to sign up, and can join the scheme at any point. They need to register online and will be able to claim the money back and have it refunded within five working days, To be eligible they must have a designated dining or drinking area, or access to one, and have been registered with their local authority since at least July 7, 2020.
