Roadworks commence to repair A500 Shavington Bypass

Works have commenced to repair the A500 Shavington Bypass, following complaints of damage to vehicles from residents when it was resurfaced last September.
Following the complaints, Crewe and Nantwich MP, Connor Naismith, contacted Cheshire East Council regarding the quality of the finish.
In February, it was announced that the contractor would conduct further resurfacing at no additional cost to the taxpayer, scheduled to start in mid-May.
It is now confirmed the first phase for resurfacing will occur on Wednesday 28 May, with the road closed between Meremoor Moss Roundabout and Cheerbrook Roundabout until 4pm on Thursday 29 May.

The second phase will take place from Monday 2 June to Wednesday 4 June for surface dressing and road marking. The A500 will be closed again during this time to allow for the works to take place.
Mr Naismith told Nub News: "I am glad to have been able to work with the Council to achieve a positive outcome for residents.
"I know many are worried due to previous reports of damage to vehicles using the road.
"Rest assured, I will continue to monitor the works and make sure our roads are rebuilt to the highest standard."
