Red carpet welcome as luxury train to roll into Crewe
By Ryan Parker 8th May 2026
A luxury rail experience comes to Crewe this May, as the Northern Belle heads for Scotland in style.
The locomotive will arrive into Crewe just before 6am on Thursday 14 May, before departing at 6.10am.
A kilt-wearing piper will greet passengers on the platform, playing a lament, with a red carpet rolled out for boarding.
Guests will be handed champagne on arrival before enjoying a three-course brunch on board.

The Pullman-style Northern Belle, once part of the iconic Orient Express set-up, is known for its 1930s glamour and fine dining.
Actor Bill Nighy has called it "the grand dame of luxury travel".
Tickets start from £495, with exclusive Krug Class available.
Passengers will spend the day in Edinburgh before returning to Crewe at 10.50pm the same day.
The train will return to Crewe on May 21 for a trip to the Chelsea Flower Show.
