Prep-D will open the doors to its new shop and café in Crewe on Monday 9 February at 8am, located at the former Longman's Butchers site on Wistaston Road.

The move marks a major step for the local meal preparation business, which began from owner Andy Bradshaw's home during the Covid-19 lockdowns.

Andy's new multi-use premises, which includes a meal preparation area 40 times the size of where the business first started, has taken around three months to complete.

At Prep-D, customers will be able to collect pre-ordered meals from Monday to Friday between 8am and 4pm. A range of freshly prepared, grab-and-go meals will also be available in store until sold out.

From Wednesday to Friday, the site will also operate as a 20-seater café, serving a new breakfast and lunch menu between 8am and 3pm.

On Mondays and Tuesdays, customers can still visit for macro-friendly meals, fresh coffee and protein shakes.

Prep-D currently serves two weekly macro-friendly menus, delivered every Wednesday and Sunday.

Andy, of Willaston, told Nub News: "We've had a lot of interest from people who work from home, wanting a change of scenery.

"It has taken three months to get this premises ready, with us installing a new roof and new cladding, with plans to sort the car park in the summer."

"We have three microwaves in the café so customers can heat their meal up, with room for up to 20 customers at a time.

"We offer a number of options, such as a macro-friendly meal, fresh coffee and a treat, protein shakes, smoothies and more. Our app allows customers to pre-order their meals to collect from here."

There will be space for five or six vehicles outside Prep-D's shop and café, with the site also close to Crewe town centre.

Andy said: "I am really proud of everything we have achieved across the past three months to get the new Prep-D ready, it is a massive achievement.

"Everyone, from the on-site workers to the landlord, they have been excellent in helping. Once you sit down and look at what has been achieved it is a really great feeling.

"The café wasn't originally planned, but I am pleased it has come to fruition.

"We use local suppliers to get the best local produce. We offer a simple menu with the option to either eat healthy or to just treat yourself, appealing to everyone.

"We can't wait to welcome you all from 9 February - see you there."

Prep-D will continue to deliver meals within a 20-mile radius of the new Crewe premises. Customers will be able to order for collection off the growing businesses' new app.

It's lovely to see your business growing,
A sensible person who has learnt to walk before running.
Doing the right thing starting of in a small way and seeing how it goes.
Eventually out growing his first ambition and going on to better things by cutting your cloth to suit.
I Wish you all the success that comes with you and your hard working team.
Don't forget a good team leads to good business.
Will you be thinking along the path of going on Dragons Den.
Wishing you all the best for the future.🤞👍.

Andy

Thanks for taking the time to comment. We understand comparisons will always be made, but we’re focused on doing things our own way and providing great quality food and service.

We are primarily a meal prep company that has grown locally over time. Moving to a larger unit allowed us to add a small shop and café alongside our existing service to offer healthier options to the community.

Any investment in the business has come from hard work and the support of our loyal local customer base, which we truly appreciate

Back peddle about three weeks ago on Hub news Steve.
It tells you a lot about Royal Saffron's meals etc, but as you say nothing about the business plan or anything else.

The old crown pub is now called saffron,
And by the looks of it, trade doesn't look too Rosie.
Although I've spoken to one or two people who have eaten their and they said it's very nice, food is excellent.👍

sounds interesting, but I haven't seen the business plan and numbers. Kerala Peppery opened as a restaurant (at the Crown in Earle St) after being a takeway/delivery service and it only last a matter of months.

Just for the record I hope this business does well and I wish them all the success for the future,
It's nice to see good competition here 👍
