Popular Crewe pub reopens after 'exciting' six-figure investment
Popular Crewe pub, The Captain Webb, has reopened following an "exciting" six-figure investment, marking the start of a new chapter for the community pub.
Named after the first person to swim the English Channel, The Captain Webb, closed at the beginning of September to undertake an extensive refurbishment significantly upgrading its facilities.
Located on Underwood Lane, the beloved pub underwent a full makeover with "vibrant contemporary decor" and full refurbishments to both rooms within the site.
Both rooms have been fully renovated aiming to enhance the pub's atmosphere, offering locals a cosier experience as they enjoy one of The Captain Webb's selection of drinks.
The Captain Webb has installed several new HD TVs, screening the likes of Sky Sports and TNT, allowing sports fans to enjoy every major sporting event.
A brand-new state-of-the-art audio-visual system has been installed to provide one of the best quality sport experiences in the area.
The pub's sports offering has been further enhanced with an upgraded games room, now featuring a dedicated darts area and a practice space for the pub's team, which accompanies the existing pool table.
The enhanced darts experience invites players of all skill levels to step up to the oche and have a match with a mate.
Four-legged friends are welcome throughout the pub, making it a popular spot for dog walkers who want to pop in for a pint with their pooch.
The Captain Webb also boasts a selection of beers, ciders and wine, claiming to have some of the most competitive price points in the area.
There is also an extensive no and low alcohol offering, ensuring all guests are accommodated to.
Operator of The Captain Webb, Wendy Pickford, told Nub News: "We can't wait to welcome back locals to our new look pub. reopening as a Craft Union marks an exciting new chapter for us.
"We believe the refurbishments have not only enhanced our warm and welcoming atmosphere but also strengthened the pub's community spirit, which at the centre of our thoughts during the investment.
"We are proud to be home of both sport and pub sport in Crewe, with our immense new darts area, which I know will be a huge hit with our guests, while our new HD TVs and brilliant audio visual system now provide one the best sports watching experiences in the area."
The Captain Webb sees an action-packed weekend celebration with Gone Country performing live at the venue from 8pm on Saturday 12 October.
Men's darts and dominoes will take place every Monday from 7pm, with ladies darts on Tuesday night alongside Tombola Tuesdays.
Wednesdays will see the popular Knit and Knatter club taking place with Bingo Night in the evening, while Thursday night's Crack the Safe and Play Your Cards Right sees many exciting prizes up for grabs.
Friday night brings the party with a disco alongside karaoke while Saturday sees an array of live musical entertainment performing throughout the night.
The weekend sees live sport played throughout Saturday and Sunday on one of The Captain Webb's many HD screens, with Sunday night offering a traditional pub quiz.
The Captain Webb is open 2pm to 11pm (Monday), 3pm until 11pm (Tuesday to Thursday), 2pm to 11pm (Friday and Saturday) and 12pm until 11pm (Sunday).
