A well-known Mediterranean pub and restaurant near Crewe is temporarily closed for a major refurbishment.

Ego at The Fox, Crewe Road, Haslington, shut from Monday 8 June as work begins on a brand new look.

The restaurant is due to reopen on Friday 3 July, with live music performances planned that Friday and Saturday evening, as well as Sunday lunchtime.

Ego at The Fox first opened in August 2018 following a £500,000 transformation of the former Fox pub.

This latest investment will see the venue unveiled with a refreshed look for summer.

In a message to customers, Ego at the Fox said: "We have some very exciting news to share from Ego at The Fox.

"From Monday 8 June, our doors will close for a short time as we begin work on our brand new look. We'll be reopening on Friday 3rd July.

"To celebrate our return, we'll have live music across opening weekend, Friday evening, Saturday evening and Sunday lunchtime, setting the perfect feel-good atmosphere as we kick things off.

"We can't wait to welcome you back into a beautifully refreshed restaurant, ready for relaxed lunches, date nights, celebrations and everything in between.
