Popular comedy night to return to Crewe town centre venue next month

Budding comedians will be given the chance to shine alongside established acts, at a forthcoming comedy night in Crewe town centre.

In conjunction with Front Guy Gary Entertainment & Event Management, Stand Up Comedy Night is live at Crewe Central on Friday 6 October.

Starting at 8pm, the headliner for the night is the hilarious Dave Williams.

A full-time comedian since 1998, Dave is booked by a wide range of bookers and venues including the Comedy Store, Manford's Comedy Clubs and Frog and Bucket.

Dave has been described as "one of the most underrated acts on the UK circuit" by the Edinburgh Evening News.

Those attending will also have a chance to raise some laughs as the audience can fill in sheets on the tables and submit a joke.

Some of the jokes will be shortlisted and read out on the night with the person penning the one declared the winner getting a pair of free tickets for the following comedy night headlined by Smug Roberts on November 3.

Opening the show is Catherine Young.

After the break the joke competition winner will be revealed before a set from another award-winning act, Jonny Brook.

He was named Best Breakthrough Act in the Yorkshire Comedy Awards 2022.

Following the final break, headliner Dave will finish off what should be another top night of entertainment. 

MC for the night is World One Liner Championship and Comedy Cellar Yorkshire New Act of the Year finalist, Ben Turner (Crewe Central).

Ben has racked up 3 million views on Facebook Reels and was included in the Daily Telegraph and The Poke's funniest jokes of lockdown.

Doors open at 6:30pm, with food from Crewe Market Hall's array of traders available to be ordered via a QR code on tables.

Last orders for food is a strict 7:30pm, with drinks for the first interval able be ordered in advance on arrival.

Blankets will be handed out to ensure everyone has extra layers of comfort.
