POLICE have released a CTV image of a white van they are trying to trace as they hunt a hit-and-run driver in Crewe.

Joshua Spender, 23, died after being hit by a van as he crossed Macon Way outside the McDonalds restaurant on Friday (November 5).

Cheshire Police say he was using a pedestrian crossing when he was in collision with the van at 5.24pm.

They say the van has a black side window and a sliding door and are appealing for the public to help them find it.

Sgt Simon Degg, from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: "If you recognise this van I would urge you to get in touch for the sake of the family.

"If you have any information that may help, or you are the driver of the vehicle, please come forward and help us with our enquiries."

Anyone with information should contact police via the Cheshire Police website quoting IML 1125388 or contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
