Police investigate assault of 'man in his 70s' outside Crewe supermarket

Cheshire Police officers are urgently appealing for information - following the assault of a 'man in his 70s' outside a Crewe supermarket.

The incident outside Morrisons, Dunwoody Way, happened between 1:30pm and 2:00pm on Sunday 30 April.

According to social media reports, an elderly man was verbally abused and assaulted - with the attacker fleeing the scene.

The victim of the assault has yet to be identified - with police appealing for information from the public.

On Tuesday 2 May, Cheshire Police confirmed the incident to Nub News.

A spokesperson said: "On 1 May, police received a third party report of a man in his 70s being assaulted in Crewe.

"The incident is thought to have happened on 30 April between 1.30pm and 2pm outside Morrisons in Dunwoody Way.

"A victim has not been identified. 

The victim of the assault has yet to be identified - with Cheshire Police appealing for information from the public (Cheshire Police).

"Anyone with information can contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting IML 1537103."
