Police charge man over 'serious assault' in Crewe

POLICE have charged a man in relation to a serious assault in Crewe.

John Healy, of no fixed abode, but from Crewe, was arrested yesterday (Monday).

The 43-year-old has since been charged with a section 18 assault.

The charge relates to an incident at an address on Underwood Lane in Crewe on Tuesday, October 5.

The victim of the alleged assault, a 53-year-old local man, remains in hospital at the current time in a stable condition.

Healy has been remanded in custody and is set to appear at Chester Magistrates' Court tomorrow (Wednesday, October 13).
