Police appeal for witnesses as Crewe boy 'hit by bus' fights for life

A BOY who was "hit" by a bus in West Street is fighting for his life in a Liverpool hospital.
Cheshire Police say the the four-year-old, from Crewe, who was flown to hospital after being injured in a collision with a bus, sustained life-threatening injuries.
Officers are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage to help them with their investigation into the incident, which happened shortly after 1pm on Monday (February 1), near to the junction of Ford Lane.
The boy was with his mother, who was pushing a pram, but police say initial reports that suggested the child may have been in the pram was not the case, and he was on foot at the time. But police have confirmed he was "struck" by a bus, and not a car.
The youngster was taken by air ambulance from George's Playing Fields to Alder Hey Children's Hospital.
His condition is currently described as stable. The driver of the bus was uninjured during the incident.
A Cheshire Police spokesman said: "Enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing and officers are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or captured dashcam footage of the incident to come forward."
