Plans submitted to build two new homes on land behind former Crewe Angling Centre

By Ryan Parker 13th Apr 2022

Plans have been submitted to build two new three-bedroom homes in a residential area of Crewe - located to the rear of the former Crewe Match Angling Centre.

The proposal involves the development of two semi-detached dwellings off Bilton Way and on land to the rear of 625 West Street, Crewe.

A Mr Jeremy Hulme, Carlisle Street, Crewe has submitted plans for the 1600 sq metre site.

What one of the proposed homes would look like (Cheshire East Planning).

The Design and Access (Planning) Statement reads: "The site consists of an area of unused, vacant land within the urban settlement limit of Crewe.

"Design and scale of the two dwellings would accord with general street pattern, providing good sized accommodation, private gardens and off street parking."

The site has benefitted from outline planning permission for a detached dwelling in 2004.

The two houses would consist of three bedrooms, an open plan living accommodation with a diner and separate lounge, a private garden and parking to the front for one vehicle.

Vacant land off Bilton Way and to the rear of 625 West Street (Cheshire East Planning).

A member of the public, located close to the development, commented on the planning application: "Parking being provided for one vehicle per household. Is this sufficient?

"If the owners of the new properties have more than one vehicle, the second would potentially be parked on the road opposite the access to my driveway.

"Causing an obstruction that other motorists accessing the estate will have to navigate."

Crewe Match Angling Centre relocated from West street to a new site at unit 6, Underwood Lane Business Park in October 2020.

Crewe Match Angling Centre is now at unit 6, Underwood Lane Business Park(Crewe Match Angling Centre).

The last date for submitting comments on the plans is 29 April. - the target decision date for the site is 23 May.
