Plans have been put forward for a new adult gaming centre on the edge of Crewe town centre, located the site of an old solicitors.

Applicant, Mr Ali Hikmet Kilicoglu has submitted change of use proposals for 240 Edleston Road, formerly occupied by Poole Alcock Solicitors, with the building now split into four.

Mr Kilicoglu wants to open the new Crewe adult gaming centre 9am to 11pm, seven days a week.

The new gaming centre would be the third business to open at the former solicitors, sat in-between Crimewatch Security (238 Edleston Road) and Afro Caribbean Shop (242 Edleston Road).

A design and access and planning statement reads: "The application site relates to a two-storey mid-terrace building located on Edleston Road, Crewe.

"The building has been vacant since 30 March 2022. Formerly the ground floor was used as retail and first floor as storage.

"The proposal is for a change of use of this commercial unit to a sui generis use of adult gaming centre.

"There would be no external or internal alterations to the property.

"The opening hours would be 9am until 11pm everyday of the week.

"The application site is within walking distance of other public car parks as well as existing residential areas and therefore there would be no harm to the local transport network.

"The proposal would bring this vacant unit back to use and would support the vitality of this centre."

Poole Alcock, which relocated from Edleston Road to Nantwich Road has since closed the Crewe South branch.

The last date for submitting comments is Thursday 30 April, with a target decision date of Thursday 14 May.

What gets me is the fact that if people are spending their days in these establishments,
Then who is providing them with the income to gamble.
Surely it's not Rocket 🚀 science.🧐
