Pedestrian in hospital with 'suspected serious injuries' following Crewe hit-and-run
A male pedestrian is in hospital with 'suspected serious injuries' - following a Crewe hit-and-run incident.
The incident on Wistaston Green Road, happened at around 4:56pm on Wednesday 19 April - involving a van and a pedestrian.
Cheshire Police officers quickly arrived at the scene - investigating the hit-and-run.
Officers discovered the van had made off from the scene after a 57-year-old man had been hit.
The pedestrian was taken to hospital with 'suspected serious injuries.'
Two men were arrested as part of police enquiries - since being released without charge.
Further police enquiries led to the arrest of a 30-year-old man who is currently in custody.
On Thursday 20 April, Cheshire Police confirmed the incident to Nub News.
A spokesperson said: "At 4.56pm on Wednesday 19 April police were called to a collision involving a van and a pedestrian on Wistaston Green, Wistaston.
"The vehicle made off from the scene and officers made a search of the area to locate it.
"The pedestrian, a 57-year-old man, was taken to hospital with suspected serious injuries.
"Two men were arrested as part of their enquiries but have since been released without charge.
"Further enquiries led to the arrest of a 30-year-old who is currently in custody.
