Occupants flee scene after BMW hits pedestrian and crashes into wall and speed sign
Cheshire Police officers are appealing for information after a BMW hit a pedestrian and crashed into a wall and speed sign in Crewe, with the occupants fleeing the scene.
On Thursday 20 July, Cheshire Police were called to reports of a collision on West Street, at its junction with Dewes Street.
At around 6.45pm, officers arrived at the scene, discovering a silver BMW had collided with a wall and a 30mph speed limit sign.
By the time officers arrived, the occupants of the BMW had fled the scene on foot.
After police collated CCTV and video footage, they discovered the vehicle hit a pedestrian before crashing, described as a potentially deliberate act.
Enquiries into the incident remain ongoing, with the officers appealing for information from the public.
A Cheshire Police spokesperon told Nub News: "At 6.45pm on Thursday 20 July police were called to a collision on West Street.
"Officers attended and found that the incident involved a Silver BMW.
"The occupants of the BMW then fled the scene on foot.
"Enquiries later show this vehicle was driven at a pedestrian, hitting him before crashing.
"It was potentially a deliberate act. The investigation is ongoing.
"Anyone with any information should contact 101 or www.cheshire.police.uk/tell-us, quoting IML 1601197."
