A popular Crewe park is currently undergoing a full redevelopment - after local residents were consulted on its design.
The Lansdowne Road Park, Sydney, installation is being carried out by Crewe Town Council partners Ansa Environmental Services.
The project is aimed to be finally completed next month - following months of delays from COVID and poor weather conditions.
Work started on the park this Spring after local residents were recently consulted on what they wanted the Crewe park to look like.
The chosen design has incorporated input from residents, following the consultation excise that ended on August 27 2021.
Lansdowne Road Park will now include 30 play features - aiming to appeal to the ages of one to fifteen.
This will be set between a toddler zone and a junior zone within the play area and will include a 'Crewe express train' for toddlers and a zip wire for juniors.
This week, Crewe Town Council told Nub News: "Crewe Town Council is very excited about the work that we have funded on the playground at Lansdowne Road Park.
"We know that the park is well-used by the local community and we are sure that it will be a welcome addition to the park space.
"The design was created following consultation with local residents and the installation is being undertaken by our partners, Ansa Environmental Services.
"We experienced a few delays at the start of the installation, thanks to very difficult weather conditions and the impact of COVID, however, the park is now on track to be completed over the next few weeks.
"An opening celebration will be held once the park is finished. More details will be announced as soon as they are available."
Lansdowne Road Park is the first park to receive funds to improve its play area facilities and other areas within Crewe will be focused on in the near future.
This redevelopment comes are Crewe Town Council pledged to improve local parks across Crewe in 2021.
The environmental services company, Ansa, working on Lansdowne Road Park, is fully owned by Cheshire East Council.
