A new family-run café serving "high-quality" breakfast, brunch and lunch options has launched in Crewe town centre, open six days a week.

Milk & Honey, Market Shopping Centre, opened on Saturday 8 November, holding up to 50 customers.

Operated by husband and wife team, Patrick and Maria Salano, who ran a food and drink business on Nantwich Road for several years, Milk & Honey trades from adjacent to the former Wilko unit.

Maria told Nub News: "My husband Patrick is a chef and worked in a number of restaurants, including Alton Towers and Aston Marina.

"We then ran a cafe on Nantwich Road for many years and decided to move to Crewe town centre so we could operate a larger kitchen and offer so much more now with the new equipment.

"The ROHS grant scheme has really helped us to start a new café. They let us do what we wanted with the premises and gave us fund towards decorating everything.

"We named the cafe Milk & Honey as in the bible it means 'abundance.' We both really like flowers and wanted to make it look outdoorsy and lively like the Garden of Eden."

"A lot of customers have been enjoying our Filipino food. We also offer a good range of coffees which have been popular, along with our cloud pancakes, popular in the likes of Liverpool and Manchester.

"Our ingredients are all high-quality and fresh. We had an excellent customer base on Nantwich Road and hope locals and those across Cheshire, including Sandbach and Alsager, come to visit us for breakfast, brunch and lunch.

"We want to make Crewe town centre busier and believe Milk & Honey is a great new food and drink destination for people to enjoy.

Milk & Honey is open 9.30am to 2pm (Monday to Friday) and 9.30am to 4pm (Saturday) (Photo: Ryan Parker).

Milk & Honey will soon be lunching on Just Eat, Deliveroo and Uber Eats, aiming to expanding its business further.

Patrick told Nub News: "We are very excited to open Milk & Honey. Having a bigger premises really helps me to produce more exciting food for people.

"I have lived in the UK for 23 years, I am very passionate about food and drink and can't wait to meet customers both new and old."

Milk & Honey is open 9.30am to 2pm (Monday to Friday) and 9.30am to 4pm (Saturday).
