AN award-winning Crewe creative is to perform a free concert of soothing and festive music.

One of Cheshire East's most productive artists, Mark Sheeky, is to perform the three-hour epic at The Macc Art Lounge in the Grosvenor Centre in Macclesfield.

The Christmas show will see Mark playing relaxing, romantic and festive piano music, while the performance will include his partner Deborah Edgeley, who will perform a reading of the recently commissioned work of poetry and music 'Sky Robes of Celeste'.

Aside from a few Christmas numbers and debut performances of some of his poems, the majority of Mark's piano playing will be improvised.

Mark said: "I've always loved playing the piano, particularly improvising or working with live elements to interact with the time or space, so playing live in a public space is always fun.

"I've been exhibiting art with The Macc Art Lounge since it started. The artist-run space is a friendly and welcoming environment for all sorts of art, including occasional demonstrations and creative performances."

Mark and Deborah perform poetry and music as Fall in Green and were commissioned by Crewe Town Council to write a piece for last Friday's Tree of Light ceremony at Crewe Crematorium.

Mark has run open mic nights at Wistaston Memorial Hall and his awards include the Chester Grosvenor Open Prize.

He and Deborah are at The Macc Art Lounge from 12 to 3pm on Wednesday, December 15.
