A major multi-channel UK retailer is targeting a site to launch a new store in Crewe, as part of a mass expansion drive.

The Range is eying up new locations across the UK, listing 17 potential sites in the North West.

Crewe has come up on this list, as well as the likes of nearby Nantwich, Northwich, Knutsford, Macclesfield and Chester.

The Range is looking for units 20,000 square feet to 80,000 square feet in size, located in standalone builds, retail parks or shopping centres.

It is also looking for freehold/leasehold/ joint venture developments, on sites in excess of three acres, where introduction fees are paid.

Currently, the closest Range store to Crewe is on City Road, Stoke-on-Trent, 15 miles away.

With over 180 stores, The Range has become one of the fastest-growing retailers in the UK.

Selling the likes of home, garden and leisure products, The Range would provide a major boost to Crewe's shopping scene.
