CREWE and Nantwich MP Kieran Mullan is counting the votes to choose the best Christmas Card designed by local school children.

The competition's winner and runners-up will see their work despatched to the Prime Minister and others on the MP's festive list.

More than 300 entries were received from pupils at schools across the constituency, including Beechwood Nursery, Monks Coppenhall Academy, Mablins Lane Primary School, Haslington Primary School, St Mary's RC Primary School, Wistaston Church Lane Academy and Wistaston Academy.

Those have been whittled down to 13 finalists and the MP admitted: "It was very, very hard to choose our finalists. We clearly have a lot of talented artists across Crewe and Nantwich and it was wonderful to see the creative efforts of so many local children."

The winning entry and a number of runners-up will be included in the design for Kieran's Christmas Card.

Constituents can vote for their favourite card on the MP's website or Facebook page until close of play on December 1.
