Motorists face delays as Crewe bypass closed until March 6

The A534 Haslington Bypass, between Crewe Green Roundabout and Wheelock Roundabout, has been closed in both directions between 9.30am and 2.30pm since Tuesday 4 March (Nub News).

A main bypass in Crewe will remain closed until Thursday 6 March, despite signs saying it was only meant to be closed for one day.

The A534 Haslington Bypass, between Crewe Green Roundabout and Wheelock Roundabout, has been closed in both directions between 9.30am and 2.30pm since Tuesday 4 March.

Cheshire East Highways said the road was closed for "essential gully cleaning" with this targeted to be completed within 24 hours.

The A534 Haslington Bypass will now reopen at 2.30pm on Thursday 6 March, with motorists being diverted via Crewe Road through Wheelock Heath, Winterley and Haslington (Nub News).

Vehicular access will be maintained for emergency vehicles and residents where possible.
