Motorist dies after car crashes into field on A51 near Willaston

POLICE are appealing for information and dashcam following a fatal crash near Willaston.

Cheshire Police said a silver car came off the carriageway and landed in a field near Cheerbrook Roundabout, at the junction of the A51 and A500 just after 11.30am yesterday (Tuesday).

Emergency crews found the car to be well alight and a spokesperson said: "Sadly, despite the best efforts of all those involved, the driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene."

Formal identification of the driver has not yet taken place, police say.

Enquiries are ongoing and officers are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision, or anyone with any dashcam footage which may aid the investigation.
