Man charged following incident in Crewe

Police investigating reports of an incident on Coppenhall Lane, Crewe, have charged a man in connection with the incident.

Shane Fortune, of Gresty Road, Crewe, has been charged with sexual assault, false imprisonment, intentional suffocation, controlling and coercive behaviour, and assault.

The 39-year-old has since been remanded in custody and is next set to appear at Chester Crown Court on Monday 30 October.

The charges relate to an incident in the Coppenhall Lane area of Crewe at around 4.55am on Sunday 1 October, when police were called to reports of a disturbance.
