A man has been arrested on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm and possession of a bladed article, following a stabbing in Crewe.

On Saturday 16 March, Cheshire Police were alerted to a serious incident on Hungerford Avenue.

During the evening, specially trained taser officers arrived at the scene, locating and arresting a man.

The male, 53, was arrested at the scene and taken into police custody.

He remains there at this time, with the investigation ongoing.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: "During the evening of Saturday 16 March, we received reports of an assault on Hungerford Avenue, where a male had been attacked with a bladed weapon.

"Crewe Response Team, 'specially trained (taser) officers, attended the location, with a male suspect identified and arrested.

"The male, 53, was arrested on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm and possession of a bladed article.

"The suspect remains in custody, and the investigation is continuing."

The male, 53, remains in police custody at this time with the investigation ongoing (Cheshire Police).
