Man arrested after police swarm Crewe street in firearm raid
A 35-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm - after armed police swarmed a Crewe street in an Easter Sunday raid.
The incident on Selworthy Drive started at around 9:30am on Sunday 9 April - with Cheshire Police conducting a warrant at an address.
There was a large presence of police officers at the scene - along with a number of police vans and dogs.
Officers were at the Crewe address for over three hours with a man being arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm without a certificate.
The 35-year-old man has since been released on conditional bail pending further enquiries.
On Tuesday 11 April, Cheshire Police confirmed the incident to Nub News.
A spokesperson said: "At around 9.30am on Saturday 9 April officers conducted a warrant at an address on Selworthy Drive, Crewe.
"A 35-year-old man was arrested at the address on suspicion of possession of a firearm without a certificate.
"The man has since been released on conditional bail pending further enquiries."
