A man and woman were arrested following an "incident" at a house in Crewe, with the male currently being held in police custody.

On Monday 4 March, Cheshire Police were alerted to a disturbance on Oxford Street.

Several police cars arrived at the scene, along with an ambulance, with the road and neighbouring Leighton Street blocked off for several hours.

No further action was taken against the woman, who was released without charge (Cheshire Police).

Officers arrested a 41-year-old year old woman and a 39-year-old man from the Crewe area.

The man remains in police custody, assisting officers with enquiries.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson told Nub News: "At around 8.05pm on Monday 4 March, police were called to reports of an incident at an address on Oxford Street.

"Officers attended the scene and arrested a 41-year-old year old woman and a 39-year-old man from the Crewe area.

The 39-year-old man remains in police custody, assisting officers with enquiries (Cheshire Police).

"It was decided that no further action would be taken against the woman.

"The man is currently being held in police custody and is assisting officers with enquiries.
