CREWE continues to bask in the blazing September sunshine.
Temperatures are due to hit 24C degrees in the area today as the good weather offers one last blast of summer.
According to the Met Office, southerly tropical continental air in combination with light winds means another day of the mercury soaring across the UK – down in the south east some areas will be hotter than sun spots in the south of France.
The UK weather will cool down later in the week - in Crewe the Met Office predicts temperatures will drop to 20C tomorrow (Wednesday) with some cloudy spells.
Yet the outlook for Thursday and Friday is sunny, although temperatures are to drop to 18C and 19C.
But going into the weekend the sun will still be around and it will certainly be a case of making the most of this fine weather, not quite an Indian Summer in its timing, but very welcome nonetheless after the cooler weather we experienced following mid-August's heatwave.
If you want to head for the coast this week thinking perhaps it is a last chance to take in some sun and sand on a good beach then destinations within an hour and a bit of Crewe include Formby where today the Merseyside sands won't be as hot (22C), but there will be plenty of sunny intervals to enjoy.
Blackpool and Lytham St. Annes will both have similar north west weather and on the North Wales coast, Talacre will be warm too (21C).
