Major road in Crewe closes following serious car blaze
A major road in Crewe was closed for over an hour, following a serious car blaze in the town.
On Monday 27 January, emergency services were alerted to an incident on Middlewich Road, close to the new Brian Palin Way.
Around 7.56pm, one fire engine from Crewe arrived at the scene, disovering a vehicle well-alight.
Crewe firefighters used a hose reel jet to extinguish the flames.
Thankfully, no one was injured. The vehicle itself sustained serious damage.
Cheshire Police were in attendance to support Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service, closing a section of Middlewich Road while the car blaze was dealt with.
It is believed there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the fire.
A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to extinguish one car that was well alight.
"Police were also in attendance and closed the road while the incident was dealt with."
