Major bank to close Crewe branch until October for 'full refurbishment'

A major bank is set to close its Crewe town centre branch for three months, allowing a full refurbishment to take place.

Barclays, Market Street, will temporarily close on Friday 25 July and plans to reopen again on Monday 20 October.

This long closure will allow Barclays to revamp its Crewe branch, providing a "modern feel" banking experience for customers and clients.

While closed, the Barclays Van will visit Crewe each Friday where the bank will have staff on hand to answer any questions.

Barclays will also deploy additional colleagues at the Barclays Local, Nantwich Civic Hall, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10am to 3pm.

A Barclays spokesperson told Nub News: "We are temporarily closing our Crewe branch to undergo a full refurbishment.

"The branch will close on Friday 25 July and will reopen on Monday 20 October. 

"While we refurbish the branch, everyday transactions can be completed at any Post Office.

"We will also deploy additional colleagues at the Shared Banking Hub at Alsager Civic Centre on Mondays (9am to 5pm), the Barclays Local at Nantwich Civic Hall on Tuesdays and Thursdays (10am to 3pm) and Sandbach Town Hall on Tuesday, Wednesdays and Thursdays (10am to 4pm).

While closed, the Barclays Van will visit Crewe each Friday where the bank will have staff on hand to answer any questions (Ryan Parker).
