M6 Northbound near Crewe reopens following severe collision between two lorries

The M6 near Crewe has reopened following a severe crash between two lorries - spreading a high amount of debris across the carriageway.

This incident, between J16 and J17, outside Sandbach Services - happened just before 9:30pm on Thursday (January 26).

Two lorries collided with one another - causing a significant amount of debris and spillage across the carriageway.

Cheshire Police and Cheshire Fire and Rescue Services quickly arrived at the scene - closing the carriageway for over eight hours.

North West Motorway Police confirmed the incident on Twitter.

A statement read: "This is the scene on the M6 northbound outside Sandbach Services, thankfully everyone walked away from the vehicles."

The M6 carriageway reopened at around 6am on Friday morning (January 27) - after being closed throughout the night.
