Lorry driver dies following incident close to Crewe Railway Station

A lorry driver has passed away following an incident close to Crewe Railway Station, where an air ambulance landed on the road.

On Tuesday 15 October, emergency services were called to reports a man had collapsed on Crewe Road, close to B&Q Roundabout.

Cheshire Police and North West Ambulance Service attended, with the road closed to allow an air ambulance to land.

Supported by members of the public, the man was given CPR and rushed to Leighton Hospital.

Despite the best efforts of all those involved, he later passed away.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson told Nub News: "At 5.25pm on Tuesday 15 October police were called to reports that a man had collapsed on Crewe Road.

"Police and paramedics attended, and the road was closed to allow air ambulance to land.

"The man was subsequently taken to Leighton Hospital.

Despite the best efforts of all those involved, including members of the public, the man later passed away (Crewe Police).

"Sadly, despite the best efforts of all those involved, he later passed away."

His death is not believed to be suspicious, and a case file will be prepared for coroner.
