Local cricket club applies to serve alcohol and host live music until midnight

A local cricket club has applied to serve alcohol and host live music until midnight, Monday to Saturday.

Weston Cricket Club has submitted a premises license application on behalf of its site at Main Road, Weston, to Cheshire East Council.

Operated by Nantwich Cricket Club, the ground seeks permission for the supply of alcohol, for consumption on and off the premises, Monday to Saturday, 10am to midnight.

Weston Cricket Club also proposes late night refreshment until midnight, Monday to Saturday (Google).

The South Cheshire venue wants to provide live music, recorded music and anything similar (indoors) from 7pm to midnight, Monday to Saturday and 7pm to 11pm, every Sunday.

The licensing application is on display at Weston Cricket Club, which merged with Nantwich Cricket Club in 2020.

Weston Cricket Club's premises license application reads: "Notice is hereby given that Nantwich Cricket Club have applied on 28 August 2025 to Cheshire East Council in respect of the premises known as Weston Cricket Ground, Main Road, Weston, Crewe.

"This is for a premises licence to provide the following licensable activities: Live Music (indoors) Recorded Music (indoors) and anything similar (indoors) Monday to Saturday, 7pm to midnight and Sunday, 7pm to 11pm.

"Late night refreshment, Monday to Saturday, 11pm to midnight.

Weston Cricket Club merged with Nantwich Cricket Club in 2020 (WCC).

"Supply of alcohol (for consumption on and off the premises), Monday to Saturday, 10am to midnight and Sunday, 10am to 11pm."

Representations to Weston Cricket Club's application shall be made in writing to Cheshire East Council Licensing Section on or before Thursday 25 September.
