Legal eagles from Crewe take on Midnight Walk challenge for St Luke's
A TEAM of solicitors from Poole Alcock in Crewe are pulling on their trainers for St Luke's Hospice's Midnight Walk.
The 10-mile round trip, which starts and finishes at Reaseheath College, takes in Nantwich Road which means the all-female team will be walking past their offices.
Family Solicitor Nicola Deakin is looking forward to the annual fundraiser on Saturday, June 26 and sees it as a great team-bonding exercise.
"After lockdown and the majority of us being deployed to home working, I wanted to do something to get the team together. I saw the Midnight Walk advertised and felt it was perfect," she said.
"As a firm we have always tried to support local causes and done a lot for charity over the years so it was ideal."
The team at St Luke's are very much looking forward to bringing people together and rebuilding the event that so many local people have come to know and love since 2005.
Andy Bailey, Corporate Partnerships Manager for St Luke's said: ''The Midnight Walk can be an emotionally-charged event, with some families walking in memory of loved ones.
"This year will have added poignancy, as it will be the first participation event we have been able to stage since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic back in March last year. Thank you to everyone that has decided to give up their Saturday night for St Luke's, we really do appreciate your support."
It's not too late to sign up for the Midnight Walk – whether you want to get together with your workmates, family or friends. As well as getting an exclusive bright yellow Midnight Walk T-shirt to wear during the event, finishers will also take away a commemorative medal.
