Leading UK retailer confirms new 'larger store' will open in Crewe this week

A leading UK retailer for gifts, arts, crafts, toys, books and stationery, is relocating to a new "larger store" in Crewe this week - with its town centre store set to close.

The Works, Grand Junction Retail Park, is set to launch at 9am on Thursday 10 August, occupying the former Bella Italia unit.

This new store will trade across 3,097 sq. ft, next door to the new PureGym, opening on Friday 11 August, and two doors down from Costa Coffee.

The Works confirmed its Crewe town centre shop, Victoria Street, will permanently close its doors on Friday 29 September (Nub News).

All team members will move across to Grand Junction Retail Park, along with three new permanent members of staff. 

A spokesperson for The Works told Nub News: "We love being a part of the Crewe community and are excited to be moving to a larger store at the Grand Junction Retail Park.

"This is a fantastic location for The Works just half a mile from the town centre and will provide our customers with easy access facilities such as free parking.

"From our new store we'll continue to provide customers with the same excellent value, as well as a much bigger range of products for reading, learning, creating and playing.

All team members from The Works' Crewe town centre store will move across to Grand Junction Retail Park, along with three new permanent members of staff (The Works).

"We can't wait to welcome both new and existing customers from Crewe and the surrounding areas through the doors of our newest store this summer."

Over the last 40 years, The Works has established itself as a popular and distinctive high street brand.

Across its 526 UK and Ireland stores and online shop, the retailer provides customers with products across its four zones of books, arts, crafts and hobbies, stationery and toys and games.

The Works told Nub News it aims to make reading, learning, creativity and play accessible to everyone.

Customers will have access to more products at The Work's new larger Crewe store, including: Peppa Pig, Harry Potter and books by leading authors such as Julia Donaldson (Ryan Parker).

The larger unit will open in time for summer, providing customers with a range of garden games, bubble and water toys to enjoy.  

It will be open until a later time of 8pm, Monday to Friday.
