Cheshire Police officers are investigating after a campaign HQ window of Crewe and Nantwich MP, Connor Naismith, was recently smashed in Crewe town centre.

Last weekend, Mr Naismith's general election campaign office window at 66A Market Street, was vandalised.

During the election campaign, the office acted as a hub for Labour's drive to secure the election of Mr Naismith as the new MP for the Crewe and Nantwich constituency.

This week (September), Connor Naismith's general election campaign office window was put through at 66A Market Street (Connor Naismith).

After winning the election on July 5, the Labour MP vacated the property, which is back in the possession of the landlord.

The unit still has all of Mr Naismith's election campaign posters on the windows, with one of them now vandalised.

Mr Naismith told Nub News: "I am deeply disappointed to see this vandalism on our high street.

"This unit was home to our campaign HQ during the General Election, but we have since vacated and the property is back in the possession of the landlord.

"If we truly want to see a revival of our high street in Crewe, as I do, this is no way to go about it.

" I have contacted the police and am assured they will investigate the matter, hopefully bringing those responsible to justice."

Mr Naismith is currently recruiting for staff to open a new Crewe and Nantwich constituency office, set to be located in Crewe town centre. It is expected to open soon.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson told Nub News: "We are aware of reports of criminal damage at a vacant premises on Market Street, Crewe, believed to involve a window being smashed.

"Anyone with information should contact 101."
