Inspiral Carpets singer set for solo show at Crewe craft beer bar

By Gwyn Griffiths 22nd Oct 2021

A RECENTLY-OPENED bar on Nantwich Road is to host a musician who hit the charts with a legendary Manchester band.

Tom Hingley, who once fronted chart-topping Mancunians Inspiral Carpets, will be performing at Ebenezer's, which opened two months ago with the aim of boosting the growing craft beer market in Crewe.

The intimate solo show from the former Carpets singer takes place next Thursday (October 7).

Hingley was part of the indie band which charted with hits such as 'This is how it feels' and 'She comes in the Fall' in the early 1990s.

He parted company with the band in 2011, but is still very active in the music scene, touring with his blues outfit the Tom Hingley Band and fronting The Kar-Pets, an Inspiral Carpets tribute band.

The 56-year-old, who will be playing original songs from across the years including Inspiral Carpets classics, will be on stage at 8pm and it is free admission.
