The A500 in Barthomley was blocked after a car overturned and a lorry crashed into a tree, in a major incident near Crewe.

Around 8.56am on Friday 29 November, Cheshire Police received reports of a collision involving a HGV and a car.

There were no reports of any injuries, with the A500, between Meremoor Moss Roundabout and Junction 16 of the M6, closed while recovery took place.

It reopened again during the afternoon, several hours after the collision.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson told Nub News: "At 8.56am on Friday 29 November, police were called to a collision on the A500, Barthomley, near Crewe.

There are no reports of any injuries, with the section of A500 closed while recovery takes place (Cheshire Police).

"Officers attended and found the collision involved two vehicles, a HGV and a car.

"There are no reports of any injuries, but the road is currently closed while recovery work is undertaken."
