A Cheshire based housebuilder has donated life-saving equipment to an area of Crewe - close to its recently completed housing development.
Bloor Homes North West has provided a defibrillator for Crewe in Woolstanwood - close to the completed Saxon Gate development in Crewe.
This is also close to Bloor Homes' Wistaston Brook site - currently being built off Church Lane, Wistaston.
The defibrillator was handed over to Cllr Clive Stringer and Cllr Jim Weir from Minshull Vernon and District Parish Council by site Manager for Bloor Homes, Stewart Campbell.
Mr Campbell led the development at Saxon Gate and is now managing the site at Wistaston Brook.
Managing Director for Bloor Homes North West, James Clark, said: "When we learnt that there was the need for an extra defibrillator in the Woolstanwood area, we knew we wanted to take action to provide local people with one.
"After all, in an event of cardiac arrest, every minute counts.
"We really hope that the knowledge that there is a local defibrillator will give people some reassurance and make them feel safe and secure."
Bloor Homes North West is based in Holmes Chapel - 10 miles from Crewe.
Figures show every minute without CPR and defibrillation - a victim of cardiac arrest's survival rate is reduced by seven to 10 per cent.
Without immediate treatment, 90 to 95 per cent of cardiac arrests prove fatal.
More local and easily accessible defibrillators can and will save lives - like this new one in Crewe.
