David was a popular performer across Crewe and beyond, with the Boris Johnson double regularly bringing in crowds to The Hop Pole on Wistaston Road.

Money is being raised to help David be repatriated with his loved ones, and to acquire much needed defibrillators at Sunny Beach resort, which could have saved his life.

Organiser of the GoFundMe, Kimberley Wilson-brame, of Moe's Tavern, Sunny Beach, in Bulgaria, said: "Boris what can I say, a friend to many, the life of the party, the man with the worst dance moves, but the biggest heart.

"We at Moe's Tavern Sunny Beach want Boris's memory to live on.

"The best way we can think of is setting up this page to purchase as many defibrillators as possible for around sunny beach and to help his family with the cost of getting our dear friend home.

"Boris you was an absolute legend and you will truly be missed by so many, goodnight our friend and in the words of Boris himself, are you ready."

Hundreds of Crewe residents have taken to social media to pay tribute to David, with one saying: "Rest in peace Boris, a top man and the most fun DJ I have met in a long time.
