Hatton hat-trick and Faddiley thriller as Crewe Regional Sunday League kicks off

CREWE Athletic came from behind to win their opening day clash with Willaston White Star on the opening day of the CREWE REGIONAL SUNDAY LEAGUE.

White Star led 2-1 at the break with goals from Jack Hughes and Azharul Haque, but the home side fought back to win the Premier Division game 3-2. Josh Dunne scored twice and Jordan Amson was also on the sheet.

The Lions (formerly White Lion Ford Lane) were handed a 6-0 humbling at the hands of George and Dragon, for whom Charlie Hatton netted a hat-trick. Robbie Hatton (2) and Joe Duckworth were also on the mark.

NHB won a high-scoring affair at Faddiley by a 6-3 margin with goals from Andy Ward (2), Carl Smith (2), Brian Holland and Frank Farrington. Derice Richards (2) and Luke Billington scored for the home side.

Betley beat Salvador 3-0 with goals from Peter Murphy, John Hancock and a Keiron Duckers' penalty - the same player also missed another penalty kick.

In Division One, AFC Talbot beat local rivals Nantwich Pirates 3-0 with goals from Dave Johnson (2) and Josh Stoneley.

Audlem beat White Horse 4-2 thanks to goals from Jack Welsh, Dan Rooney, Will Cork and veteran marksman Andrew Betteley. Joe Davies and Johnny Parkes netted for the visitors.

C & N Utd played their first game at their new Wistaston base, but went down to a 3-2 defeat at the hands of Broadhurst FC. Mark Green and Tom Hayton scored for the home team with Dan Martin (2) and Brad West netting for Broadhurst.

Princes Feathers beat League newcomers JS Bailey 3-0 with two goals from Peter Hase and one from Jamie Cain.

Talbot beat Sandbach Town 4-2 with goals from Ryan Moss, Dan Jones, Scott Rankine and Mike Hickson. Jamie Knowlson and Constantin Macovei netted for the visitors.

Another new side, Cuddington and Sandiway, got off to a good start when they edged their game at Sydney Arms by a 2-1 margin. Jordan Coles and James Caudwell scored for the visitors, while Carlos Perez scored for Sydney Arms who failed to net a twice taken penalty kick.
