A Crewe showman is to perform with one of the UK's most iconic rockers this weekend.

Pianist Tom Seals will share the stage with Noddy Holder MBE this Friday.

Mr Holder, who is often associated with Christmas from his days in the band Slade, is a special guest at The Tom Seals Christmas Spectacular.

The event will take place at the Crewe Lyceum, of Heath Street, this Friday December 1.

Noddy, who lives in the Cheshire village of Prestbury, has recently come out with news of his cancer diagnosis, but this hasn't stopped him from the spotlight and performing.

Tom, who is originally from Crewe, will be performing with Noddy for the sixth time.

"I'm so excited to be returning to my hometown theatre," said Tom.

"I'm from Crewe, went to Ruskin School, and now live in Haslington. So playing the Lyceum is a local show for me.

"It'll be a great evening of boogie woogie, blues, swing ala Jools Holland style with guests popping into to sing a few! It'll be an incredible weekend as we're at The Lyceum on the Friday, and then the most famous jazz club in the world, Ronnie Scott's, on the Sunday!

"I'm looking forward to being back home and seeing everyone to start the Christmas season off in style!"

And Tom is used to performing with the stars, having shared the stage with Gregory Porter, Jamie Cullum and Hugh Laurie.

He has even been in a group which supported Pink Floyd. Tom also has a show on Sky TV where he interviews celebs.

Tom was brought up on a musical diet of jazz, blues and boogie-woogie: genres his grandfather's Big Band rehearsed every week at Crewe's The Crosville Club. Mastering this style has seen Tom perform all over the world, and now for this Friday's homecoming show.

The Tom Seals Spectacular prices start from £24.25. Tickets for this Friday's Noddy Holder gig can be purchased on this link.

"I love working with Noddy," added Tom.

"In every show we've done, I'm sat at the piano chatting with him and there's some real 'pinch me!' moments!

"I see the love he so rightly gets from all over the world, and I realise how fortunate I am to be sitting there chatting with a real national treasure.

"We share a love of the same rock 'n' roll music and I think he really loves being back on stage and singing a few tunes with my incredible band.

"We've done a few Little Richard tunes, and it's going back to the music Noddy first fell in love with. So he's happy, I'm happy, the audience happy… it's such a thrill to be working with him!"

And the 77-year-old isn't the only celebrity guest on the night, as Sandi Thom, best-known for her Number 1 single I Wish I Was a Punk Rocker (With Flowers in My Hair), will also be singing.
