A growing convenience store group is set to open another site in Crewe, located at a former bed shop.

Go Local Extra will be opening at 265-267 Broad Street, previously occupied by Cross Keys Beds.

This comes after franchise operator, Mr Kotharshan Kaneshamoorthy, submitted a premises licence application to Cheshire East Council.

The new Crewe North shop would be open 6am to 11pm, seven days a week, adjacent to Cross Keys Roundabout and close to Co-op Food Remer Street

Go Local Extra, which now has over 1000 UK stores, already operates sites on Coleridge Way and Coronation Crescent in Crewe.

"This is for a premises licence to provide the following licensable activities: "Supply of alcohol for consumption off the premises, Monday to Sunday, 6am to 11pm.

Bit of an odd place to set up a corner shop, pretty much right next to the Co-op, and a Premier halfway down Broad Street too, not to mention the petrol stations over the bridge on Bradfield Road. That being said, some of the product ranges in the Co-op are a bit limited, and Go Local Extra stores often have a much better world foods section, particularly with Indian snacks. I am hoping this new store will be able to compete on product ranges, else I don't expect it to last.

I think I will be staying with the co-op there prices are fine and the quality of food is excellent,
The staff are always polite and friendly.
Where will the people who visit the new go local convenience store going to park.
I'm pretty sure that this will force the co-op - chatwins -and the chippy to ask the landlord who owns the property's to put up cameras and enforce parking restrictions.
Also there's a price to pay at these so called convenience stores.
