This afternoon, Cheshire Constabulary confirmed to Nub News it had received a report from the public.

A spokesperson said: "At 12.44pm today, Monday 24 October, police were called to reports of two girls wearing Halloween costumes and intimidating members of the public at Queens Park, Crewe.

"Officers attended and found no trace of the youths and no sign of a disturbance."

This incident has caused a large divide on social media.

Some Crewe residents believed reporting the incident to Cheshire Police was wrong (Cheshire Constabulary).

Some local residents took to social media - believing reporting the incident to police was wrong.

Crewe resident Kyle Edge said: "Unfortunately I can't agree with this unless they were actually causing issues via verbal abuse or running after kids on purpose to scare them.

"If they're just walking around like that, so what?

"It's nearly Halloween and they could be doing much worse stuff really.

Crewe Police officers attended and found no trace of the youths and no sign of a disturbance (Crewe Police).

"It's easily spotted as a fake knife too, you can tell it's plastic so why bother?"

The two girls were not found by Crewe Police.
