Gas supply checked at Crewe property after car crash

FIRE crews checked the gas supply at a house in Crewe after the property was hit by a car yesterday (Sunday) evening.

The vehicle hit a gas pipe at the house on Cranborne Road and fire officers made sure the supply had not been affected by the collision.

Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said the male driver of the car was treated by paramedics at the scene.

A spokesperson added: "Crews disconnected the battery and a cordon was put in place while the gas was checked."

The incident took place around 16.40pm and two fire engines from Crewe attended.

  • A pedestrian was treated by paramedics after she was trapped under a car on Nantwich Road on Friday night.

Fire officers used an airbag to raise the vehicle and release the woman.

Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said the collision involved a car and a pedestrian.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: "The woman was taken to hospital as a precaution and her injuries are believed to be minor."
