Gang Show Fellowship rings in decade with original 1938 star in Crewe
By Ryan Parker 12th May 2026
The Gang Show Fellowship recently celebrated its 10th anniversary with a weekend of events in Crewe, attracting members from across the country, including an original 1938 cast member.
The highlight of the weekend was a trip to the 2026 Gang Show at Crewe Lyceum Theatre, attended by over 70 fellowship members from as far as Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Norfolk and Sussex.
Also in attendance, was guest of honour, Peter Taylor, who aged 102, is the only surviving member of the original 1938 Gang Show cast.
Before the performance, a presentation was made to Gail Montague, the show's choreographer from 1976 to 1997, and also in memory of her sister, the late Yvonne Chesters, who introduced dance to the show in the early 1970s.
The weekend of celebrations concluded the following day with a lunch and video presentation at Crewe Golf Club, attended by more than 60 guests.
The first Crewe Gang Show, staged at the old Town Hall 88 years ago, transferred to the Lyceum 20 years later and remains one of the longest running shows of its kind in the country.
The Gang Show Fellowship is a self-funding group of former cast members, supporters and friends.
Each year, several reunion events are staged, with members raising money for various charities, while at there same time supporting the current Gang Show.
