Casualties rescued and taken to hospital with 'serious' injuries following collision near Crewe

Four casualties were rescued and taken to hospital with injuries - following a serious two-vehicle collision on the M6 between Crewe and Sandbach.

The incident on M6 Northbound J16-17, happened at around 9:45pm on Friday 10 March.

Cheshire Police officers, Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service firefighters and North West Ambulance Service paramedics quickly arrived at the scene.

Emergency services arrived to find a Mercedes Sprinter van and a Range Rover had collided with one other (Wikimedia Commons).

This collision left the driver, a 24-year-old man, and two passengers, a 25-year-old and 30-year-old man trapped inside the Range River.

Firefighter crews released the three casualties and handed them into the care of paramedics.

They were taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Another passenger, a 25-year-old man, was taken taken to hospital with minor injuries and has since been discharged.

The M6 collision left the driver, a 24-year-old man, and two passengers, a 25-year-old and 30-year-old man trapped inside their vehicle (Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service).

A full closure of the northbound carriageway was put in place while the incident was dealt with.

On Monday (March 13), Cheshire Police confirmed the incident to Nub News.

A spokesperson said: "At around 9.45pm on Friday 10 March, emergency services were called to the M6 northbound between junction 16 (Crewe) and junction 17 (Sandbach), following reports of a collision involving a Range Rover and a Mercedes Sprinter van.

"The driver of the Range Rover, a 24-year-old man and two passengers, a 25-year-old man and a 30-year-old man, were taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

"Another passenger, a 25-year-old man was taken to hospital with minor injuries but has since been released.

Three casualties were taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries. Another passenger was taken to hospital and has sinec been discharged (Google).
