Firefighters tackle deliberate industrial bin blaze in Crewe town centre

Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service tackled an industrial bin blaze on Crewe town centre street - believed to have been started deliberately.

The incident on Sandon Street happened at 5:19pm on Sunday (November 20).

One fire engine from Crewe arrived at the scene - putting out the bin blaze.

Firefighters moved the bin away from a town centre building - checking there was no fire or heat damage.

Cheshire East Council were contacted due to the large amount of debris caused by the blaze.

A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "An industrial refuse bin was on fire next to a building on Sandon Street.

"The crew moved the bin away from the building and checked there was no fire or heat damage to the property.

"They informed the local authority of the incident due to the large amount of resulting debris."
