Fire officers tackle car and van blazes in Crewe

By Gwyn Griffiths 23rd Dec 2020

FIREFIGHTERS have tackled two vehicle blazes in Crewe.

The incidents happened over the last two days with the latest just before 5pm yesterday on Dane Bank Avenue.

One fire engine from Crewe attended the scene and officers wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to extinguish the flames which had engulfed a car.

On Monday evening a crew was called out to a van fire on Herbert Street at around 10.40pm. There they used two hose reels to put out the fire, which it is believed was caused by an electrical fault, then continued to dampen down the vehicle.
