Fire crews tackled a first floor blaze at a house in Crewe East, believed to have been caused by an electrical fault.

On Wednesday 22 July, Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service were alerted to an incident on Hungerford Road.

At 8.33am, one fire engine from Crewe and one fire engine from Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service arrived at the scene.

On arrival, the firefighters used a hose reel jet to tackle the flames upstairs in the property.

No one was injured in the incident, with the fire leaving moderate damage to part of the dwelling.

A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Firefighters were called to reports of a fire alarm sounding in a house in Crewe.

"Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to extinguish a fire which was discovered on the first floor.

"The utilities were isolated, and all persons were accounted for.

"This is believed to have been caused by an electrical fault."
